Laura has announced that from today serves on the Advisory Board of The Hugs and Kisses Animal Fund.
The Hugs & Kisses Animal Fund is a privately funded California 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation dedicated to the financial support of humane organizations. Our mission is to be the outsourced fundraising arm for small animal rescue organizations for which a staff fundraising person is unfeasible, and for which other financial resources are unavailable.
The organization consists of a group of community leaders concerned about the growing inability of our “Humane Heroes” and rescue organizations to provide care and shelter in today’s trying economic times. The Fund focuses its grants on supporting the health and welfare of all animals including but not limited to; organizations charged with population control, providing training for use in therapy, support of persons with disabilities, as well as organizations involved in shelter, rehabilitation and placement in good homes.
It is our goal to be the “United Way” for animal organizations. We will provide grants to small “mom and pop” animal welfare organizations across the United States to support ongoing operations or in times of emergency. This fund will keep humane staff doing actual rescue work, care and placement without worrying about raising money for their efforts
